A few terrain and texture changes




Haven't tackled the airplane diffuse quite yet, but I've been adding runway decals, runway lights, and blue fill lights for the canyon shadows.

  1. great! You figured out the decals. What was the problem? Did you try the soft masked? I would make the lights at least twice as big cause they get lost right now. Also add more deatail to their texture. Perhaps a cage on top of the white part or break it up into sections.
    For the final have 5 of your strongest screen shots.

  2. Soft masked didn't work properly so my current material set up is translucent with an unlit lighting model. As long as the decals are in direct light it's fine.

  3. Oh, by the way, do you think adding a handful of desert scrub-type foliage meshes would help or hurt? I've been meaning to do them but at this point my time might be better spent elsewhere.

  4. The meshes would definitely be helpful. Maybe you want to make a cactus or you can make brush. Whatever you think you have time for.

  5. But work on the texture for the lights too. That is important because it's already there. The base needs some highlights and the top needs more detail.
