Alex Martin Lighting Scheme

Here's my homework, unfortunately some of the stuff is still getting lost in shadow..... need to figure out how to fix that. really looking forward to what this'll look like in Unreal. Also I have a skeleton model, but posing him without a rig was a nightmare so tonight my animation teacher is gonna help me rig the skeleton up with the biped rig in Max and I'll put one in the cage and another one somewhere in the room for added effect and some repeated elements. At this point all that was added model-wise was a dagger (stabbed into the table whose handle is just barely visible in the shadow) and a spiked torture chair...

Paintover updated + silhouettes

These are silhouettes for the alien restraint system in the middle of the room. These arms are meant to slowly drain the life out of humans to sustain demonic machines. The machines help to keep a deity's (separated) body parts in suspended animation. Right now I'm using a low poly base mesh as somewhat of a placeholder and I feel like making it look more interesting...

Jungyeo

I haven't made any color studies, but i found this cool image online of what i want to head towards. i also want to ask if there is a way to mimic the lighting in the picture, and the old timey photo look. i think its called sepia.

Paintover Mk. I

Getting a feel for color and light mostly. I'm going for a sort of largely unfinished wood look. This would be a sort of rural attic I guess. Might change some of the furniture in the model.

Update

I am writing this just so you know that I haven't forgotten about you! I have been having video problems since I haven't done these in a while and am trying to figure out the best work flow while keeping the quality. I wanted to edit the video so it wasn't so long, but exporting from premiere is either crashing or not giving me the quality I want so I am still messing around. The problem is the hours long render each time, so please bear with me until I find what works best. I promise I will have these up as soon as I can!

I hope everyone had a great weekend with lots of art involved!
